Accommodation
We have booked blocks of rooms for Friday & Saturday nights at two places on Orcas with different characters — read on to decide where you want to stay. In addition to these options, we list some other Orcas hotels at the bottom of the page.
Remember to book early because August is high season on Orcas Island!
Doe Bay:

If you want to stay at Doe Bay, get in touch with us (Beth or Chris) as soon as possible – we are handling the block of cabins ourselves.
Location: Doe Bay is located on the south-eastern coast of Orcas Island, approximately 45 minutes from the Orcas ferry terminal. It is about a five minute drive from Chris’ family’s property, where the rehearsal dinner/BBQ and the wedding will be held. Doe Bay is approximately 30 minutes from Eastsound (the main town on Orcas Island). For directions to Doe Bay, click here.
Atmosphere: Doe Bay is not a resort, hotel or a B&B. It’s rustic, far from town, and a bit on the hippie-ish side of things. It has fairly simple cabins, with a camping feel, although all of the cabins we have booked have basic amenities (i.e., running water). There is an organic restaurant, opportunities for sea kayaking and other nature-like excursions, and a beautiful redwood hot tub and sauna (both clothing-optional) overlooking the ocean.
Booking: We have booked out a block of rooms – everything from cabins for two to cabins for four to a big house with many different rooms – so that people can get the most out of the weekend and enjoy the community feel of the lodging (if they want). If you are interested in lodging at Doe Bay, let us know quickly! We will discuss with you which cabin would fit what you want. Doe Bay will not allow you to book from our block of cabins on your own.
Landmark Inn:

Location: The Landmark Inn is located in Eastsound, the main town on Orcas Island – about eight miles from the ferry terminal and 30 minutes from Chris’ family property. Click here for directions to Landmark Inn: http://www.landmarkinn.net/mapdirs.html.
Atmosphere: The Landmark Inn is a hotel with condominium-style rooms (kitchenettes, etc.). It is located in the heart of Eastsound, where there are many things to do – shopping, dining, walking, sea kayaking and whale watching. You’ll want to stay here if you want to be in the middle of town and have access to amenities, restaurants and activities.
Booking: We have booked out a block of condos/rooms. Feel free to call or email directly to book your room, and tell them it’s for the Coldewey/Glick wedding.
Other Accommodation
Outlook Inn: This place is also in East Sound, right next to the Landmark Inn. Great location and atmosphere – unfortunately already booked for another wedding, but may have available rooms.
The following two hotels are located in between Eastsound and Chris’ family property. Only book here if you have your own transportation, as the wedding shuttles will not stop here.
Rosario Resort: Rosario is probably the most famous resort in the San Juan Islands – it’s a beautiful old heritage hotel located on a bay near Moran State Park.
Cascade Harbor Inn: Cascade Harbor Inn is located on a bluff overlooking Rosario and its bay. It’s motel-style lodging with great views and a private deck for every room.
