The Weekend
Arrival: We encourage guests to arrive as early as they like, as we’ll be on the island the entire week before – come enjoy the beautiful surroundings with us (you can even help us set up…).
WEAR COMFORTABLE, STABLE SHOES — THERE WILL BE LOTS OF GRASS AND UNEVEN SURFACES.
Friday, August 1st, 2008
2pm: Games – soccer on the field, etc.
6:30pm: BBQ dinner
Come to Chris’ family property for a casual BBQ on the beach (everybody is welcome, not just the rehearsal folks). We’ll have plenty of veggie options for non-carnivores. Wear warm clothes (it gets cold at night) and good walking shoes.
Saturday, August 2nd, 2007
Morning: Explore Orcas: kayaking, hiking, swimming, etc.
5 pm: Our Wedding!
Be prepared for an outdoor wedding. Attire is island chic — this means wear something special as you see fit, but come prepared for a lot of grass and uneven surfaces. Wear heels at your own risk! We will be dressed to the nines, but hey – we’re the ones getting married. It will get cool at night, so bring something to keep you warm.
7pm: Dinner and dancing
Sunday, August 3rd, 2007
9:30am onwards: Meet at Doe Bay for an informal brunch and to hang out before heading home…
Things to do on Orcas:
Take advantage of your time in the San Juans and experience some of the many great things Orcas has to offer.
* Drive up to the summit of Mt. Constitution, highest point in the San Juans. Climb the stone tower there and see panoramic views of islands and mountains.
* Go swimming in Cascade Lake, rent a paddleboat, or hike the 2.7 mile trail around the lake. Don’t miss the tree and cliff jumping opportunities!
* Walk around Mountain Lake, located halfway up Mt. Constitution, or hike to Twin Lakes.
* Go sea kayaking
* Go whale watching
* Take a ride in a bi-plane
* Go to a spa and get a massage
